Kenneth Arnold (March 29, 1915 - January 16, 1984) was an American aviator and businessman, best-known today for his reporting of the first widely-publicized UFO sighting in the post-war United States, a sighting which took place during a flight near Mount Rainier, Washington on June 24, 1947.
